¡Hola! Me llamo Hermana Ball. ‘Hermana’ isn’t really my first name; it’s a title given to me while I share the gospel of Jesus Christ in Utah for 18 months. Here are some juicy tidbits about me for the purpose of introducing myself:
- My non-mission “25 Most Played” playlist includes 90’s rap, gypsy punk, and French jazz.
- Vanilla-scented bodywash and lotion makes me sad
- I like to bike and use public transit whenever possible
- Simple, live entertainment warms the cockles of my heart. I’ll always give a couple bucks to street performers.
For 18 months I have the privilege of teaching the people of the Salt Lake City South mission about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whose gospel has been restored in its fullness to the earth today. I am in Utah because of the words of a 14 year old boy named Joseph Smith who, in his search for truth, found the faith and humility to kneel before God and ask in the name of Jesus Christ which church was true. He later wrote of the experience:
I have similarly knelt before God and asked Him of the truth of these words, and the Holy Spirit has truly borne witness to me of the truth that is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is the fullness of Christ’s gospel on the earth again today, and I know that only through our Lord and Savior can we return to live with God forever as eternal families. What a blessing this knowledge has been in my life! So I am in Utah to share this good news with all who will listen and to invite them to partake of the joy that I have felt. It is a mission of love.
